WELCOME TO VERONA AREA MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING

The Verona Area Middle School Wrestling Team is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders from both Savanna Oaks and Badger Ridge Middle Schools.  Practices are held at Badger Ridge Middle School from 3:40 until 5:20 every day during the season (There is a bus after school to bring students from Savanna Oaks). Our first practice is November 1st.  

Wrestling is the only school sport 6th graders are able to do in Verona and they are a valuable part of our team.  Although they are not allowed to travel or compete against other schools, they are able to practice and scrimmage other teammates at home meets in order to prepare them for the upcoming youth season and next years middle school season.  It is a great opportunity for these young wrestlers.  Of course our 7th and 8th grade wrestlers compete against wrestlers from many other schools in the conference during the season.    

The Verona Area Middle School Wrestling team has lead the way the last two years moving their season to late fall to keep it from conflicting with the popular youth wrestling season, in which we encourage all of our wrestlers to participate.  This year for the first time the entire Badger Conference has switched to this new season and so far it has been a great success.
